The Challenge
It started with a call from a global media powerhouse: a rough concept for a creator experience around their new show, and one question - how would you set this up, and how fast can you make it happen? The classic path needs 12+ weeks of development, production and approval loops. The cultural moment wouldn’t wait. And the format itself was the hard part: ten creators living inside a true-crime story while cameras capture it as it unfolds. You can’t reshoot an experience. Story, characters, scripts, location, set, custom costumes, two real private investigators and twelve cameras - everything had to stand on day one.
The Orchestration
We built the format as a production system - and the set as asset design: every room a content function. The assembly hall opens and closes the story. Interrogation rooms build pressure. The common lounge breeds alliances and suspicion. The confession room extracts the secrets. Content wasn’t planned on top of the set - it was built into the floor plan.
The shoot day ran as clockwork: parallel rooms, timed rotation slots, twelve cameras capturing the experience live - while the creators created their own content along the way. Development ran the same way: story, scripts, location, build and costumes in parallel streams, three weeks from first call to shoot day. Nothing waited for anything.
The asset system had a function for every piece: a four-part micro-drama across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts anchored the story. Evidence drops and tape files proved. Confession-room clips deepened. Story polls and in-character reactions pulled the community in. One case, three senders at once: the brand channel narrating, creators in character, creators as themselves. And two distribution tracks - through the algorithm, and past it: a WhatsApp case file pushing new evidence straight to people’s phones. Even the community getting it wrong was part of the design - days of misdirection, one false alarm, then the reveal.
Built as one integrated unit with WongDoody - creative ambition held, not sanded down.
The Output
One day of shooting turned into 30+ assets over three weeks - anchored by the micro-drama, closed by a full-length YouTube episode that brought the entire case together. The first asset went live within 24 hours of shooting. Measured against the classic path, the client saved 12 weeks - not production time, but loops and overhead that simply never happened. But the number isn’t the point. The system is.
